What is the Fortified Program?

The FORTIFIED™ program is a set of construction standards proven to build resilient homes based on research from IBHS. It comes in 3 different designations, each building upon the one below it. 

“FORTIFIED Roof™” As the name implies, it focuses on strengthening the roof of your home, which is often one of the first points of failure in a storm. That way, your home will stay dry even in Category 3 hurricane conditions! Any home can be awarded a Fortified Roof, but not all homes can earn the other 2 designations.

“FORTIFIED Silver™” is the next class, and it details the strengthening the openings of your home, such as windows and doors. Anything that is vulnerable to being removed by high winds is secured, such as porches, chimneys, and carports. 

“FORTIFIED Gold™” is the best, and it involves every part of the home. Specifically though, it addresses the framing,  locking every part of the house together with hardware selected based on your  distance from water. This means that your home will not only withstand storms, but also the test of time.
