Landscaping & Sitework
Landscaping has a huge impact on the curb appeal of your home. In addition to just aesthetics, proper drainage and grading on your land is crucial to your home’s functionality. Whether it’s a complete renovation of your landscaping, a brand new outdoor space, or repair after other building work, Green Coast Living is here to help. Read on to see what’s involved in some of our landscaping projects.
Landscape renovation
Grass, trees, bushes, sand, gravel, flowers, and straw… all of these can go into effective landscaping. No two properties are the same, so each project we undertake requires a unique approach. At times, you may want to move, trim, or remove a tree, which can seem like a daunting task. We are ready to tackle these kinds of projects with the right equipment and crew. On other occasions, we go to great lengths to protect your trees during a home build or addition, using techniques to surround and preserve trees while construction is underway. We also offer stump grinding services for felled trees.
On most projects, the largest part of the landscaping is grass. Our sod is sourced locally, which is not only better for the enviroment and economy , but also gives your yard the best possible results. Thankfully, we live in a county that produces some of the best sod in the US. If seeding is the logical way to go, we source locally to reduce invasive species and we make sure to plant grass that is appropriate to the soil type and season. We also provide irrigation system installation, so that your lawn grows no matter what!
Grading & Drainage
Grading is to a builder as a canvas is to a painter. It creates the conditions for success! Like a clean, flat canvas that lets the artist’s work shine, level ground and proper drainage are the basis for a truly beautiful and functional property. The fact is, we live around a lot of water. (In fact, Mobile, Alabama is frequently cited as the rainiest city in the contiguous United States.) Without proper planning, erosion and settling can undermine the very things most important to you! Managing all that water is key to enjoying your home.
The good news is, our 20 years of southern building experience can help! Oftentimes, we build underground drainage systems, keeping them out of sight, out of mind. Other times, this means installing retaining walls and water-permeable hardscapes. We make sure that these new features on your property are not just functional, but also practical and beautiful. So whether you live on on a hillside with a view or waterfront, right on the coast, we’ll make sure you can enjoy your property water worry-free for years to come!
Demolition and hauling
At Green Coast Living, we take pride in our work, from start to finish. To create somthing new, that usually means removing the old. That’s where demolition comes in! We professionally remove everything from driveways to doors, trees to trim. We use use filters, barriers, silt fencing, and power equipment to reduce all unnecessary exposure and do the work efficiently. We take steps to protect what is yours in the process, and we regularly thouroughly inspect your property to be sure everything is cleaned up properly. We supply our own fleet of trucks, trailers, and drivers to safely haul away waste and debris, disposing of it responsibly, every time.
